Has the institution conducted an employee satisfaction and engagement survey or other evaluation that meets the criteria for this credit?:
Yes

The percentage of employees (staff and faculty) assessed, directly or by representative sample:
100

A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:

A questionnaire is distributed by e-mail invitation with link to website to complete a survey that asks about 80 questions related to employees perception on a number of key topics: Strategic Direction/Leadership; Academic Excellence; communication; College environment; Work environment; Resources; Growth and Professional Development, My job and Employee Engagement. There are then a number of open-ended questions, including an opportunity to provide comments or areas where improvement is required.

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation (including examples from the previous three years):

The institution looks at what the employees say and put in place ac tion plans, both at a college level, and at an institutional level to address the feedback. For example, employees indicated deep dissatisfaction with how technology enables their work. The College made a significant investment in assessing needs, and fixing issues.

Another example:
The fact that the admin staff “Chairs” showed a significant decline in their overall results from the previous two surveys. Initiatives were taken to provide a different forum for cross-divisional problem solving, engagement of them in plans and directions of the College prior to any decisions, and targeted professional development activity for this group. We will measure the impact of this work in the October 2014 survey.

One final example, when asked what one thing they wished the College would do, they indicated they wanted more space for “casual learning” for students…as a result, each area in the College invested in creating small informal, comfortable study spaces for students in nooks and crannies in the College.

The year the employee satisfaction and engagement evaluation was last administered:
2,012
