GW regularly participates in The Chronicle of Higher Education's Great Colleges to Work For Survey. The Great Colleges to Work For Program - sponsored by The Chronicle of Higher Education and ModernThink LLC, a leader in assessing workplace quality, provides senior-level administrators and academic leaders with insights on the quality of the workplace experience and the competitiveness of their workplace policies. In 2017, GW surveyed 600 employees using this instrument.

In addition, GW participated in the Washington Post's Top Workplaces engagement survey of 1000 employees to gather data on our employee engagement.


A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation (including examples from the previous three years):

The data was used to recommend to leadership that the entire employee population be surveyed next year, and that detailed results be purchased in order to understand the drivers behind engagement at GW.
