GVSU values sustainability and recognizes the obligation we have as an institution of higher education to provide resources, act as responsible stewards, and practice sustainable growth. Grand Valley strives to consider issues of sustainability as we operate day to day and plan for the future. The Sustainable Community Development Initiative (SCDI; www.gvsu.edu/sustainability) highlights some of our commitments and provides resources and education materials for students, faculty, staff, and communities interested in sustainability. SCDI staff regularly engages in public speaking and authors published articles at local, regional, and national levels; assists colleagues in developing resource documentation.
