The window we analyzed is May-October 2017, which not only includes our large summer order but is also representative of about half our annual expenditure.

When the RW Kern Center was opened in spring of 2015, a suite of cleaning products were tested and vetted to meet the Living Building Challenge's stringent red list requirements. The selected products are also Green Seal Approved and have the US EPA Design for the Environment (now called Safer Choice) label.
Hampshire College elected to use these cleaning products campus wide to benefit all our custodians and building occupants, not just those in the new building.
While only $7000 of the $18,000 we spend annual on paper products is FSC/Green Seal/Ecologo certified, the remaining $11,000 worth is made from 100% recycled paper.
