Which of the following best describes the institution’s approach to rainwater management?:
No written policies, plans or guidelines, but green infrastructure and LID practices are used

A brief description of the institution’s green infrastructure and LID practices:

Although not a written policy, the College is implementing stormwater runoff reduction strategies in all new construction. The LEED Gold certified Ken Burns Wing directs stormwater into the ground for recharging..

The RW Kern Center, opened April 2015, contains and treats all stormwater and waste water on site. Roof runoff is collected in two cisterns and treated for drinking water. The new building’s swales, rain gardens, and constructed wetlands ensure zero runoff.

Part of the project re-routed one of the major campus roads and removed a large traffic circle and parking area from the heart of campus. This was a significant reduction of impermeable paved area.
