Haverford College has enacted a buildingpolicy stating tht all new construction will be environmentally friendly.
The most recently completed new construction project at Haverford College was the Douglas B. Gardener Integrated Athlletic Center (GIAC). This 100,000 square foot building was completed in October of 2005 and earned LEED certification at the Gold Level.
In 2009 a 6,000 square foot green roof was installed on a portion of Stokes Hall.
In the fall of 2010 the college began construction site work on two new dormitory buildings. Occupancy is scheduled for the fall of 2012. Each building in 21,252 square feet and each is seeking Gold LEED Certification.
