Haverford participated in a Mellon-funded TriCo grant the supports course development in Environmental Studies. This has supported a new consortial faculty workshop in Environmental Studies to stimulate thinking about the curriculum in that and related areas, which has served to strengthen the new Environmental Studies minor. This year, 5 Haverford faculty participated. It has also support a series of faculty development grants. Five faculty were awarded these grants with proposals for the following courses:

Biology, Health and the Environment
The Psychology of Conservation: Theory and Research in Environmentalism
Introduction to Oceanography
Perspectives in Biology: Coevolution of Life and the Environment
Perspectives In Biology: Introduction to Genetics and the Environment


A brief description of the incentives that faculty members who participate in the program(s) receive:

Haverford faculty received grants of $500-$750 for workshop participation and $2250-$5000 for faculty development grants.
