Does the institution have an on-campus garden where students are able to gain organic farming and/or gardening experience?:
Yes

A brief description of the garden:

Due to a collaboration between the HCC horticulture program and HCC food services, campus-grown greens are now served to top off sandwiches and add to the salad bar in the Sunrise Cafe. Horticulture students cultivate the produce using the aeroponics system in the greenhouse. They are learning about alternative growing methods such as organics, hydroponics, and aeroponics. Instead of planting crops in soil, hydroponic systems feed plants with a nutrient rich liquid solution and aeroponic systems apply a fine mist of nutrients and water to the roots.
