Yes

A brief description of the facilities for bicycle commuters:

Shower facilities and lockers are available at the Dow Gymnasium and the Devos Fieldhouse. Indoor bike storage is at the discretion of individual offices and space availability. All residence halls are equipped showers and rooms for locking personal belongings as well as indoor bike storage rooms, which student residents can access. All buildings are equipped with outdoor bike racks.

In 2011 the City of Holland passed a resolution to adopt a "Complete Streets" Policy.

Starting in the summer of 2017 all students that register their bikes receive a copy of the map.

A brief description of the bicycle sharing program:

While we do not currently have a program, there are planning meetings happening to create one. The City of Holland is coordinating a program to come on-line in the near future. Hope College participates in the meetings and students, staff, and faculty were included in the brainstorming survey.

The Hope College Transportation Department offers a free evening campus shuttle that runs from 6pm-12am on weekdays and 6pm-2am on weekends. This service is free for all Hope College students, faculty, and staff. The shuttle completes a loop around the campus every 10 minutes, pausing at 10 pre-determined stops along the way. Many students utilize this service, with participation levels increasing later in the evenings.

We offer preferential parking at the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.

We have a shared motor pool available for faculty/staff transportation. Students are eligible to apply to be in the car sharing program as well.

Two - one station is at our Haworth Inn and Conference Center and one station is in a general parking lot.

There are 16 other stations located throughout the City of Holland as well.

All 18 EV chargers are free to use.

A stable core-city neighborhood is vital to the mission of Hope College and to the Holland Community. The "Walk to Work Program" has been established to combat neighborhood deterioration, to improve the quality of life for members of the community and to serve as a catalyst for further efforts to improve core city neighborhoods. The "Walk to Work Program" provides financial incentives for Hope College and Creative Dining Services employees desiring to live in the targeted neighborhoods surrounding the College.

Yes

A brief description of other sustainable transportation initiatives and programs:

During the summer of 2017, the Holland-Hope College Sustainability Institute is a partner in a "Bike Holland" Series which promotes usage of the new bike lanes. The rides are scheduled May-August and are a fun way to get people comfortable commuting by bike around town.

The series is featured on our campus calendar and was also promoted through email, new employee training, and campus intranet.
