The Office of Sustainability hosts a website which contains information about current initiatives, student internship opportunities, waste diversion information, the campus STARS report, climate action planning, sustainability staff, and other resources. It acts as a central hub for students, staff, and faculty to access information about key sustainability projects and implementation efforts on campus. In addition, the campus offers the Green Scene, a secondary sustainability website. It is accessed by following a prominent link in the footer of the main HSU homepage. The Green Scene provides information about sustainability related clubs and curriculum, provides student, staff, faculty, and alumni profiles, and highlights the latest media coverage on HSU sustainability efforts. In the Behavioral and Social Sciences Building a display highlights the building's sustainability features, which include rainwater catchment, passive solar heating, sustainable building materials and LEED Silver certification.

The Music A building features a PV solar installation which details the amount of power captured on a daily basis.

CCAT also includes several signs that discuss appropriate technology that can be found throughout their grounds and facilities.

Both the J Cafeteria and the Depot food court feature electronic displays that highlight HSU’s commitment to sourcing food from local vendors.

In AY15-16 HSU Facilities Maintenance took a no-watering approach to maintaining grounds in several high visibility areas of campus mostly along the median of L.K. Boulevard which fronts campus. Signage alerted campus visitors to the no-watering policy as a response to historic droughts in California.

Additionally, the Campus Center for Appropriate Technology maintains a pick-your-own vegetable garden complete with signage indicating the various forms of sustainable agriculture the center practices.

The university produces a self-guided sustainability tour which highlights green features within the campus like the Forbes Complex Co-generation facility, Redwood Bowl lighting project, the WRRAP composting site, and more.

The HSU parking website outlines HSU’s commuter-focused sustainability efforts, including the Jackpass, which gives students with current HSU id’s unlimited rides on county and city buses. Also featured is the campus Zipcar program which highlights four zip cars that can be checked out by student, faculty, staff, and community members. Finally, HSU’s Zimride program is a secure online ride-sharing board that matches HSU students, staff, and faculty with others traveling to the same destination.

During freshman orientation, HSU staff and the student group WRRAP hold's workshops on ways to live with minimal impact while on campus. Additionally, the campus’s Center Activities office offers classes and certification on “Leaving No Trace," when engaging in outdoor activities. These classes are open to the campus community and the public at large.
