IIT has a sustainability website at www.iit.edu/sustainability that links to the Wanger Institute for Sustainable Energy Research (WISER) and the Office of Campus Energy and Sustainability (OCES). Wanger Institute for Sustainable Energy Research designed, developed, and maintains a website housing all information related to energy and sustainability research and education programs at IIT (www.wiser.iit.edu) The Office of Campus Energy and Sustainability website (www.iit.edu/campus_sustainability) houses campus energy and sustainability initiatives and activities.

This is one of the ways the office promotes our monthly forums, various initiatives on campus, and the work of sustainability related student organizations and projects.

Restrooms with dual flush toilets have information posted on those systems. Many recycling containers have signs containing information about which items are recycled in which containers. LEED certified buildings have certification plaques.

Sustainability related signage changes over time, highlighting various dining programs and sustainable food choices. One recent signage campaign promoted the reusable food container program in The Commons dining hall, which allows diners to get take-out meals in returnable containers instead of disposable ones.

The Office of Campus Energy and Sustainability has created a walking map that displays the and gives a description of many sustainability related locations on campus. These include renewable energy locations such as the on-campus wind turbine and solar installations, LEED certified buildings, access to public transportation and bike share systems, and recycling stations.
