At Illinois State University the University College is charged with the administration of the federal TRIO program on campus. The three requirements that students must fulfill in order to be eligible for the program include:
1) Be a first generation college student (neither parent graduated from a four-year college/university)
2) Have a demonstrated financial need according to federal guidelines
3) Have a documented disability

Illinois State University provides an entire office to guide both parents and students through the process of financing their education. Along with the office staff and its resources, the Financial Aide office has brochures for parents on how to finance their child's education. Finally, the Financial Aide office works with the Julia Visor Academic Center to coordinate and provide money management informational sessions for parents and students.
