Percentage of new employees (faculty and staff) that are offered orientation and/or outreach and guidance materials that cover sustainability topics:
100

A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):

New employees are invited to participate in and orientation session which covers topics of social justice, personal health, overview of the Healthy IU Program, mental health resources, public transportation options (all faculty/staff have free use of campus and city public transportation and may use their employee i.d. as a bus pass), information on campus walking trails. The welcome pack also includes an informational sheet outline IU's AASHE STARS rating, active transportation options, how to join a sustainability working group, how to recycle at IU, and how to use the IU Surplus Store.

A recycling eTraining module was initiated by Facility Operations to go into an existing library of training which employees are required to completed based on their job requirements (https://one.iu.edu/task/iu/e-training). The audience is intended for anyone: faculty, staff, students, or visitors at the Indiana University Bloomington campus to inform what can be recycled and all the different recycling bins found on campus. It will probably be a requirement for Facilities Operations staff with 6 questions to be answered at the end. Residential Programs and Services (RPS) has used some of this eTraining for their area as well, but it is at the discretion of each department within RPS.
