Does the institution use Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology in at least one lighting application? LED applications in exit signs and remote controls do not count for this credit.:
Yes

A brief description of the technology used:

Iowa State has installed 177 LED light fixtures on main campus roadways, which now make up 39% of all ISU-powered streetlights on campus. In addition, the Iowa State Memorial Union has had several LED upgrades. All 147 light fixtures in the vehicle parking areas of the Memorial Union Parking Ramp have been replaced with LEDs. The largest meeting room in the Memorial Union also received LED replacements for all eight of its chandeliers. In addition, Iowa State’s General Services building received an LED upgrade, and currently all exterior lights on the loading dock and at the overhead doors into several of the main facilities have been converted to LED fixtures. Use of the lights at the loading dock has been particularly beneficial, as this area is actively used for many campus activities, deliveries, and shipments. LED fixtures have also been incorporated into several classrooms at Iowa State, including two rooms in Physics Hall. Finally, all seven sets of traffic signals on campus have been converted to LED lamps.
