Previously, ISU Dining purchased some vegetables on an availability basis from Iowa State's on-campus organic garden, including peppers and tomatoes. However, quantities were small in comparison to the number of meals ISU Dining served.

ISU has an on-campus farm called Student Organic Farm (SOF), which was initially supported by ISU Dining. However, due to the numerous community partners that now purchase food from SOF, the farm can no longer produce enough food to sell to ISU Dining as well.
