The University Committee on Diversity (UCD) is charged with "assess[ing] the effectiveness of diversity efforts on campus, identify[ing] gaps in university diversity policies and efforts, develop[ing] new policies and initiatives as necessary, and ensure[ing] that units across the university are meeting diversity objectives." The UCD meets several times each semester. Among the committee's responsibilities is the review of diversity reports submitted by colleges and units. The committee also supports diversity-related events and activities and is responsible for reviewing applications for the Diversity Grants program.

The Office of Equal Opportunity at Iowa State provides Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Informational Training during University Orientation, to departments by request, through general sessions at your convenience, and as a self-tutorial online powerpoint.
