A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Ithaca College collaborated with Cornell University, Tompkins Cortland Community College, the Ithaca-Tompkins County Transportation Council, the Tompkins County Department of Social Services, Tompkins Area Consolidated Transit and Zimride to develop Zimride.Tompkins, a community-wide social network ridesharing portal system. The three higher ed institutions each have a separate portal for their members, and the Tompkins County community has a general portal. While Zimride as a commercial entity was already in existence, this marked the first time that Zimride had worked with a community coalition to expand the utility of its ridematching system.
