A brief description of the facilities for bicycle commuters:

The LEED Platinum-certified Dorothy D. and Roy H. Park Center for Business and Sustainable Enterprise features a restroom with shower facility especially for bike commuters. There are lockers in the Park Center building which may be used by students or faculty/staff to store personal items. There are bike racks outside this facility which can be used to secure bikes. Faculty may also bring their bike indoors and store it securely in their office.

The Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management. Our streets, lots and bike parking are maintained to provide safe access to all.

Environmental club currently runs the Ithaca Bike Share program.

The school offers subsidized bus passes to students. Students receive 30% of 15-ride, monthly, and semester long passes. Faculty and staff ride the bus system for free, their passes are 100% subsidized.

Ithaca College worked with a local consortium of partners (Cornell University, Tompkins Cortland Community College, Ithaca-Tompkins County Transportation Council, Tompkins County Department of Social Services, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County's Way2Go program, and Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit) and Zimride to create a community-wide ridematching system that meets multiple needs, including carpool commuting matches, as well as one-ride matches for local errands and shopping and student weekend/vacation trips home.

Yes, Ithaca College partnered with Cornell University, the City of Ithaca, the Ithaca-Tompkins County Transportation Council, and EcoVillage to develop Ithacas Carshare, a local independent carshare organization. This carsharing program offers discounts to students, faculty and staff at the school. Ithaca CarShare offers 2 options for membership, a "Just-in-case" and a "It's my car" membership. One of the Ithaca Carshare fleet of more than a dozen vehicles is permanently located in a dedicated parking space on the Ithaca College campus.

Ithaca College provides free transit service to its employees, so the incentive to live within the transit service area are substantial.
