JMU meters the 10,000 gallon rainwater harvesting system used for toilet flushing in the renovated Wayland Hall.

The percentage of urinals on campus is not readily available; JMU does has a total of 15 waterless urinals in three buildings: University Services Building, Veterans Memorial Park, and the East Campus Dining Hall (LEED-gold).
