Does the institution's treatment of interdisciplinary research meet the criteria for this credit?:
Yes

A brief description or a copy of the institution’s policy regarding interdisciplinary research:

Judson University’s Faculty Handbook lists areas of scholarship consistent with a framework developed by Dr. Ernest Boyer and supported by the Carnegie Foundation. This framework includes:

1) Scholarship of Discovery, such as laboratory, archival, or clinical research;
2) Scholarship of Integration, such as multidisciplinary research and creative works;
3) Scholarship of Application, such as community-based research or collaborating with external constituencies; and
4) Scholarship of Teaching, such as leading workshops or developing curricula.

The size and mission of Judson not only allows for interdisciplinary collaboration in scholarship, but also actively encourages it. The majority of our committees, including our Promotion and Tenure Committee, include faculty from a wide range of disciplines and areas of expertise.

The Promotion and Tenure Review Committee regularly evaluates faculty based on teaching, service, and scholarship. All four areas of scholarship listed above are considered equally valuable to the life of the university. Similarly, research that crosses disciplines is weighted equal to single-discipline research in evaluations related to promotion and tenure.
