A brief description of how the institution ensures compliance with sustainable building operation and maintenance guidelines and policies:

The Harm A. Weber Academic Center (HAWAC) was certified as a LEED Gold for New Construction building on December 3, 2008.

It is maintained as a sustainable building through the usage of timer-controlled temperature regulation (based on occupancy hours), energy efficient lighting in the form of T5, T8 and LED lights, and motion-controlled lighting throughout the building.

In addition, in the summer of 2011 the Math & Science building was upgraded to T5/T8 lighting all throughout the building, and the building also received a complete set of Energy Star windows to reduce energy impact on the environment.
