A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:

The Dean for Environmental and Institutional Sustainability chaired the Policy and Legislative Workgroup of the Green University and College Subcommittee of the Green Government Coordinating Council for the State of Illinois. The Workgroup worked with guest speakers representing various issues and current legislation. Issues included Green Multiple Listing Services (Green MLS), the Illinois Renewable Portfolio Standard, Hydraulic Fracturing, the Mohomet Aquifer, PACE Legislation, Illinois Waste Reducatyion Plans, and Illinois House and Senate bills.

We worked with the Dunn Fellows in the Office of Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, Jennifer Walling and the Illinois Environmental Council, Debra Rowe on Civic Engagement (with AACC SEED and HEASC)
