Lakehead's power supply is 100% grid purchased electricity. Hugh Briggs of physical plant was unaware of the breakdown of power generation sources. Customer representatives from Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and Thunder Bay Hydro were likewise unaware. Northwestern Ontario is part of a balanced grid, and the percentage of electricity coming from various sources can change based on electricity consumption. For this reason, electricity is best noted for Lakehead as 100% grid purchased as the institution has no influence on the sustainability of that power generation.
