There are two avenues for socially responsible investments that are available to LSU participants:
Louisiana State University System TDA Plan. The socially responsible fund available under this plan is:
CREF Social Choice Fund.This variable annuity account seeks a favorable long-term rate of return that reflects the investment performance of the financial markets while giving special consideration to certain social criteria. Using specific environmental, social and governance criteria, the evaluation process seeks out companies that are: strong stewards of the environment; devoted to serving local communities and society in general; committed to higher labor standards; dedicated to producing hig-quality and safe products; and those managed in an exemplary and thical manner.
Louisiana Optional Retirement Plan (if eligible). The socially responsible fund available under this plan is:
TIAA-CREF Social Choice Equity Fund. The fund primarily invests in compainies that are screened to meet or exceed certain environmental, social and governance criteria. The evaluation process seeks out companies that are strong stewards of the environment; devoted to serving local communities; committed to higher labor standards; dedicated to producing high-quality and safe products; and managed in an exemplary or ethical manner.
