Loyalist has presented its sustainability initiatives to Colleges Ontario and participates in energy benchmarking initiatives with the Ontario Colleges Facilities Management Administrators Association (OCFMA).


The names of local, state/provincial, regional, national, or international campus sustainability organizations or consortia in which the institution participates and/or is a member:

Loyalist is a member of the Ontario College and University Sustainability Professionals (OCUSP), a signatory to the Pan-Canadian Protocol For Sustainability (an initiative by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges) and a member of the Ontario Colleges Facilities Management Administrators Association (OCFMA) which shares utilities data and information regarding sustainable practices and project implementation.


A brief summary of additional ways the institution collaborates with other campuses to advance sustainability :

Other collaborative efforts focus mainly on sharing of best practices such as at OCFMA conferences and meetings and the annual OCUSP meeting. With regard to purchasing, Loyalist’s Procurement Services Manager meets with other purchasing managers within the College system annually and sustainability is always on the agenda.
