The purpose of the Committee is to advise on and endorse policies, practices and initiatives that enhance the College’s environmental, social and economic performance. Over the past three years, the Committee has developed an institution-wide Sustainability Policy, spearheaded the development of the Energy Conservation & Demand Management Plan, reviewed corporate practices, and endorsed and helped organize a number of sustainability events.

Loyalist’s cross-College Sustainability Steering Committee develops, implements, and promotes awareness of sustainability initiatives on campus. Comprised of Loyalist academics, administrators, staff and students, the committee is committed to supporting policies and practices which will empower Loyalist to adhere to the stewardship of economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainability.

The objective of the committee is to ensure that Loyalist upholds its agreement as a signatory of the Pan-Canadian Protocol for Sustainability. The team meets regularly to discuss new opportunities to expand Loyalist’s sustainability efforts on campus and within the community.
