A brief description of the programs sponsored by the institution to support underrepresented groups:

Loyalist's AccessAbility Centre provides academic supports to students with documented disabilities. Services include (but are not limited to) workstation modifications, technical aids, flexible or alternative work schedules, temporary or permanent alternative work, leaves of absence, human support services, provision or materials in alternative formats, counselling and referral services, consultation with appropriate medical/occupational specialists. Services are free, voluntary and confidential.

Loyalist's Aboriginal Resource Centre ensures appropriate support for Native students on campus and acts as a liaison between College administration, Native communities and government agencies.

In response to the Province of Ontario's Crown Ward Education initiative, Loyalist's Student Success Services has developed a support model offering mentorship, peer support, motivation and guidance geared specifically towards youth with current or former Crown Ward status.

Loyalist College Rainbow Alliance Group - The Rainbow Alliance Group meets once a week on campus, is a peer support-focused group and is meant to offer a safe place for students to connect, seek support, develop new friendships, express themselves, learn about the LGBTQ community and have some fun.

Loyalist has a Mature Student Group (students usually above the age of 25, includes many students including those with children, partners, work, single parents, and other life responsibilities and experience). They meet each month for social time, and enjoy events and activities together as a group.

Loyalist College respects the dignity and worth of every member of its community and provides for equal rights and opportunities, free from discrimination and harassment. The College's Policy defines what discrimination and harassment is and incorporates procedures and actions to address any and all appropriately documented

With regard to the housing options for transgender and transitioning students, it is established practice at Loyalist to make every accommodation necessary in working with the student to ensure they are in a comfortable, inclusive and safe living environment. Upon request, Loyalist's Residence Life staff will facilitate room reassignments for transitioning students.
