yes; all students must take an Engaged Learning course as part of Loyola University Chicago's Core Curriculum requirements. Service Learning courses are among the 5 categories of Engaged Learning courses and require that students spend more than 20 hours of service
Employee incentives for community service engement include a Human Resources Policy supporting employee participation (http://www.luc.edu/hr/policies/policy_immersion.shtml) and an annual employee service day (http://www.luc.edu/mission/employeeprograms/ignatianservicedays/). Additionally, many univeristy departments and programs encourage faculty and staff involvement in student service programs such as the Alternative Break Immerstion program or Saturday of Service.
