Yes

A brief description of the program(s), including positive outcomes during the previous three years:

Luther College offers multiple incentives for incorporating sustainability into new and existing courses including the following:
- faculty development workshops focused on sustainability in the curriculum
- financial incentives for faculty who create a new course or modify an existing course to include sustainability
- a learning community of faculty who provide mutual support and guidance in the process of course development to include sustainability

Each year Luther's sustainability office works with the Dean's office to develop and distribute a request for proposals to faculty for a small grant program for course development related to sustainability. (attach the pdf from 2013) The Associate Dean responsible for faculty development and a committee of faculty choose the most worthy proposals for inclusion in the program. Faculty who are chosen attend a full day workshop in the summer modeled on AASHE's sustainability across the curriculum workshops. After the summer workshop, faculty involved meet monthly for six months to share ideas and resources and provide mutual accountability as they develop their courses. After six months each faculty participant must submit a complete syllabus and supporting materials that demonstrated the inclusion of sustainability in the course.

In the past two years, over twenty faculty members have participated in this project resulting in new and revised courses that include sustainability in eight different academic departments.

A brief description of the incentives that faculty members who participate in the program(s) receive:

Faculty participants receive a total of $1200 for successfully completing this program.
