A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:

A survey was sent out to all faculty and staff via the Luther College Tuesday. The survey was entirely voluntary and asked employees to report on their method of transportation to work, as well as the number of miles they commute round-trip on a regular basis. Data comes from 149 employees, representing just over one third of all staff and faculty.
