Earth Common Journal (ECJ) is an international, undergraduate, peer-reviewed journal that provides a forum for students to communicate a diversity of ideas and information on issues concerning conservation, sustainability, and climate change. Earth Common Journal is published by the MacEwan University Bachelor of Communication Studies program. It is published annually in September, with its inaugural issue released in 2011. Earth Common Journal accepts articles from all disciplines, and includes research projects that are empirical, qualitative, creative, and interdisciplinary in content and approach. It also accepts articles from students internationally, to provide global perspectives and discussions on conservation, sustainability, and climate change.
For the past four years ECJ has been developed as a learning tool for students and faculty to research and publish articles on issues related to sustainability. It is a student-driven, peer-reviewed, online, international journal providing a communication network for sustainability. Its publications enable awareness, build community, both internally and externally, connect affiliates, and unite sustainability structures. ECJ is meant to be youthful and passionate about the environment.
The ECJ website - http://www.earthcommon.com/ is intended as an interactive forum for all people who are interested in the topics of conservation, sustainability, and climate change. ECJ is a venue for students to express, communicate, discuss, and explore their ideas about our changing planet. ECJ publishes articles written by undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty. It represents a combination of both young and innovative voices articulating research, writing, and editing with respect to sustainability.

ECJ has recruited a group of highly respected individuals on the peer-review committee who is responsible for reading and the selection of submissions for the Earth Common Journal. It is comprised of the following individuals:

There have been four ECJ issues published since its inaugural issue released in 2011. In total, 49 articles have been written by 4 faculty members, 46 undergraduate students, and 1 international contributor.
