A brief description of the institution’s programs that help increase the diversity of higher education faculty:

-The director of cultural diversity attends meetings held by the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) to recruit interested faculty members. A listing of highly trained scholars is shared with the colleges through Human Resources and Directors of Cultural Diversity.
-Recruit members of the area community to apply for open positions at the college.
-Recruits former MCC graduates for open positions at the college. The Director of Diversity has utilized data reporting tools to identify graduates in nursing, allied health, and applied technology programs to recruit for faculty positions.
-Submitted position openings to the Kentucky Association of Blacks in Higher Education website.
-Contacted regional graduate programs when positions become available.
-Promoted the use of tuition waivers for college staff to pursue additional education that can assist with future promotions within the college.
-Promoted individuals with credentials from professional staff position to faculty positions.
-Shared information about open positions with members of the Diversity Advisory Council.
-Providing staff the opportunity to build leadership and organizational skills through campus committees and recruitment efforts.
