Many residences are fully co-ed, meaning washrooms are gender-neutral, and there no gender-specificity in room assignments (most are single rooms).

While double rooms are generally assigned based on the declared gender on the institutional application, requests to room with someone of a different gender are generally accommodated as long as the request is mutual.
