Messiah College is set in a relatively rural area, but is surrounded by a fast growing suburb. The campus is situated in both Cumberland and York County with the Yellow Breeches creek dividing the two counties. For this report, the campus refers to Messiah's main campus located at One College Ave. in Mechanicsburg, PA. The graduate school and the smaller Harrisburg campus are not considered for this report.

The rationale for excluding any features that are present from the institutional boundary:
We excluded the graduate campus and the Harrisburg campus at this time because many of the features associated with those campuses are contracted out to third parties and the College does not own those buildings. Making it difficult to make changes. Additionally, the graduate school is new and for this first report we chose to exclude the graduate school.
