Does the institution advocate for national, state/provincial, or local public policies that support campus sustainability or that otherwise advance sustainability?:
Yes

A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:

The institution supports the Coordinator of Sustainable Practices role, and a portion of that role is to represent the college for sustainability related issues. Currently, the Coordinator of Sustainable Practices sits on the Board of the Green Omaha Coalition, which as a group looks to advance sustainable practices in town and the region. The Coordinator also is a member of the Metro Transit's Stakeholder team assisting in the advancement of sustainability by participating in the development of the Bus Rapid Transit system, something that is very new to the Omaha area. Additionally, the College has representatives from different areas of the College sitting on the stakeholder committee of Heartland2050. Heartland 2050 is the region's first development of a regional plan to encourage a collaborative, well - planned eight county region that serves the community in a sustainable and just manner.
