Participants in the environmental stewards program are self-selected volunteers.


A brief description of the formal training that the student educators receive (1st program):

Students participating in the environmental stewardship program receive an hour-long training session and are provided with additional online resources. In addition, the students receive contact information for two full-time employees including the Residence Hall Sustainability Coordinator and Office of Campus Sustainability Project Coordinator, in the case that students have additional questions, comments or concerns. Students participating in the environmental stewards program receive periodic and timely messages and monthly building reports which detail recycling, waste and energy consumption habits within their residence hall.

The student environmental steward program is co-managed by two full-time employees, the Residence Hall Sustainability Coordinator and the Office of Campus Sustainability Project Coordinator.
