A brief description of how green cleaning is incorporated into cleaning contracts:

NMSU wrote our Green Cleaning Policy in 2014. We signed purchasing contracts with different vendors for green cleaning substances, micro-fiber cleaning materials, energy-efficient green cleaning equipment (floor waxers, vacuums, etc.), and trained our custodial staff in the use of the new equipment and cleaning systems. We also signed a contract with the company who supplies our toilet paper and paper towels which are all made of recycled fiber. Our hand soaps in all our restrooms are green liquids as well with a low-waste container.

Of the institution's uncertified building space, what percentage of floor area is maintained in accordance with an energy management or benchmarking program? (0-100):
69

A brief description of the energy management or benchmarking program:

We performed an audit of the campus square footage that is controlled by Energy Management Equipment. The system was designed and calibrated utilizing eQUEST Energy Simulation Tool to model energy consumption profiles for the various building types.

We then compare our actual live energy consumptions against the simulation model and then benchmark these against the US Energy Information Administration Commercial Buildings Energy Consumption Survey (CBECS) and also ASHRAE energy design and performance criteria.
