The www.nyu.edu/sustainability website provides information on the history of sustainability at NYU, current initiatives, how to get involved, academic programs and research, and links to campus resources.
Updated routinely, with dynamic content news and events feeds, featured initiatives, and more.

A newsletter provides information for the Sustainability Advocates program which empowers employees to "green" their departments.
Purchasing Services also sends out a routine green purchasing newsletter.
Sustainability content is featured nearly monthly in the NYU Minute university-wide publication.

The website includes a section to publish student applied research with which the Office of Sustainability played a role.
The Environmental Studies Program and other academic departments publish student research as well.

NYU includes signage as part of the process for LEED construction / renovation of buildings. As our buildings are renovated, they gain this information.
In terms of existing building stock, there is some signage in individual buildings highlighting specific features (e.g. Law School buildings explain high-efficiency toilets, Stern buildings explain new hand dryers and water bottle filling stations, etc.). Additionally, all buildings have informational signage explaining NYU's mixed recycling program, and most have signage inviting employees to join the Sustainability Advocate Program.
As specific new green building features are added, most are being featured in signage. The mechanism is in place, but much of the campus has not yet gone through the process.

NYU Dining Services uses tabletop signs, posters, and a website to communicate about their mission to "take a proactive role in improving the health of the NYU community, the health of the planet, and contributing to the economic well being of farmers by implementing sustainable initiatives into our dining."

All of NYU's green or open public space sites are maintained following sustainable grounds-keeping practices. However, these sites are very small and limited. The main vehicle for sharing information with the public along these lines is through the Sustainable Landscaping website (see below).
NYU's premiere sustainable landscaping project, the Schwartz Plaza "Native Woodland Garden" which features pre-Hudson-Manhattan native landscaping, has a plaque describing the sustainable features of the site.

During Welcome Week every year, we offer a Sustainability Walking Tour, and in 2010 added a Sustainability Bike Tour of the NYU campus and neighborhood. Other Sustainability Walking Tours have been organized for specific events.

NYU Local and the Washington Square News both now appoint a sustainability beat reporter on a semester by semester basis. More importantly, both publications regularly cover sustainability issues, with more than 30 articles a year covering green, social or economic justice concerns.
