A brief description of the technology used:
A mixture of Automated Logic Controls (ALC), Alerton, and Honeywell systems constitutes a campus-wide BMS that is used to control building mechanical systems, including temperatures, based upon occupancy hours.

NYU has an extensive "Recess Mode" program where building schedules are changed during Winter, Spring, and Summer Recess. During this time, NYU modifies building mechanical systems schedules, elevators and lighting to save energy.
