The Niagara College Strategic Plan (2013-2016) includes the goal to increase leading edge sustainable and accessible learning environments. The initiatives included in the strategic plan to support this are to incorporate environmental sustainability into programs and operations. This includes meeting the five sustainability targets as well as achieving and maintaining a bronze level in STARS.

The Niagara College Strategic Plan (2013-2016) includes the goal to prepare students who are world-ready. The initiatives included in the strategic plan to support this is to provide programs which are current and relevant in both local and global contexts and provide opportunities for students and staff to work with difference cultures and participate in international work/study experiences.

The Niagara College Strategic Plan (2013-2016) includes the goal to increase leadership in regional economic development and increase fiscal strength and diversification. The initiatives included in the strategic plan to support this is to grow the "Learning Enterprise" concept, lead in the re-build of Niagara Region's advanced manufacturing sector, increase economic impact of Niagara College's applied research efforts, support Niagara start-ups and existing small and medium size enterprises (SME's), act as a conduit between SME's and government agencies to support growth and economic development and to enhance profile with industry, business, and leading community organizers.
