The Sustainability Committee is composed of students, faculty, staff, and administration from North whom are passionate about sustainability. The committee is involved with supporting any sustainability related project on campus, and is a driving force for making our campus a more sustainable environment. The Function of the Committee: "The Committee, on behalf of the college community, shall advise the President on matters vital to the mission and goals of North. Its functions shall be to:
•Generate new sustainability initiatives or projects and support existing sustainability initiatives;
•Propose sustainability policies to the Executive Team to be considered for adoption or implementation by the college;
•Authorize spending of the Sustainability Fund for sustainability-related initiatives and projects;
•Advise the Chancellor’s Sustainability Initiative Committee on best practices used at North that could be considered at other colleges in the district"

A brief description of the sustainability office:

The sustainability office is made up of the Sustainability Coordinator, an Assistant, our P-Patch Project Manager, and work-study students that filter through on a quarterly basis. We develop sustainability curriculum with faculty members, develop projects with students that increase sustainability on campus while building skills that students can take into the workplace, advocate sustainability practices on campus and beyond, and generally act as a resource to anybody wanting to be more involved with sustainability.
