NAIT has participated in the University of Alberta's One Hour, No Power: Campus Challenge for Earth Hour since the competition first began in 2010. This Alberta-wide competition seeks to spread awareness about Earth Hour and invites students, staff, and faculty to pledge that they will participate in Earth Hour. The institution with the highest participation rate per capita wins. NAIT won the competition in 2010 and in 2011.
