The workplace health and safety baseline as adopted as it is the most recent available year to use as a baseline. 2015-2016 is the most recent year for which we have information on workplace injuries/casualties to use as a performance year, with the baseline of 2014-2015 immediately preceding this performance year.

A brief description of the institution’s workplace health and safety initiatives, including how workers are engaged in monitoring and advising on health and safety programs:
Public Safety and Police Services conduct health and safety training to all new faculty each year upon employment. We also conduct health and safety training to different departments each year, specific to that particular department. I attached a list of the training topics we discuss with the departments if that will help you with anything. Required annual training for all NMU employees is conducted via PowerPoint presentations located on MyNMU under Public Safety Training System to include Fire Safety, Right To Know, and Asbestos Awareness. There are also training topics including Clery Act and Active Shooter.
We also have multiple health and safety policies, which are all under periodic review (see below). NMU also has a University Safety Committee and an Occupational Safety Committee, both of which discuss health and safety topics on campus (I attached the websites for these as well).
