Percentage of new employees (faculty and staff) that are offered orientation and/or outreach and guidance materials that cover sustainability topics:
100

A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):

Each new employee of Northland College is offered the opportunity to participate in sustainability efforts taking place at the College. This opportunity not only includes a sustainability campus tour but also very practical educational information regarding the day to day operations of the College. A few examples of such information sharing includes education on the food services provided through the College the majority of which is locally sourced; efforts related to sustainable transportation efforts on campus, including numerous walking trails and a campus bicycle repair shop (working with both employees and students to promote sustainable transportation); and flexible work options allowing employees to work compressed schedules thus reducing greenhouse gas emission associated with commuting for those who do rely on motorized vehicles for transportation to work.
