On campus resources exist in the way of a Campus Health Center and campus counseling services available for access by all students. The Campus Health Center Nurse serves the Northland College campus in developing and maintaining a comprehensive healthcare strategy including educational programming, the encouragement of campus community members to participate in preventative health measures, consulting with campus community members on their individual healthcare needs, and making referrals to both on-campus and off-campus healthcare professionals as necessary. The Campus Health Center Nurse can also perform a variety of tests plus blood pressure checks and health assessments for free or minimal cost.
Campus counseling services are available to provide personal counseling and mental health referral; provide crisis intervention, assessment, and coordination of emergency situations; build cooperative and effective relationships with community mental health care providers; provide a pro-active, mental health education program for students; and provide support services for students with disabilities.
Additionally, an Employee Assistance Program is provided for all employees which provides confidential guidance and resources for employees and their immediate household family members by means of in-person help for short term issues; toll free phone and web access 24/7; unlimited phone access to legal, financial and work life services; discount on in person consultations with network lawyers; financial consultations and referrals; and work/life services for assistance with items ranging from child care to moving and vacation planning.
