A brief summary of the climate plan’s long-term goals:

In 2007, Onondaga Community College signed onto the American College and University Presidents' Climate Commitment (ACUPCC). The College developed a climate action plan in order to establish goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The climate plan includes the goal of a 25% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions below 2007 levels by 2021. The overall goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The carbon neutrality goal was establish in conjunction with the progress report required by the American College and University Presidents' Climate Commitment.

The plan includes interim goals of reducing greenhouse emissions below 2007 levels:
8% reduction by 2011
12% reduction by 2013
16% reduction by 2015
19% reduction by 2017
22% reduction by 2019
25% reduction by 2021
