A brief description of steps taken to ensure that e-waste is recycled responsibly, workers’ basic safety is protected, and environmental standards are met:

CRT Recycling in Massachusetts handles the computer recycling for our school and several others. The company has assured us verbally that they reuse or recycle responsibly. They provide recycling services to many schools and nonprofit organizations in NY, NJ and Mass.

A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for institution-generated materials:

We have a large storage container on campus near the IT building. All electronic materials are picked up by maintenance, IT workers, or student technicians and brought to the electronic recycling bin. When the bin is full, the company, CRT Recycling Inc. 175 East Ashland Street Brockton, Massachusetts 02302, is contacted and they send a truck to pick up the e-waste, replacing the full bin with an empty one. Last year we included a college-wide e-waste collection as part of our Earth Day activities, and plan to do so as an annual event.

A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for student-generated materials :

We will continue to include e-waste recycling for faculty, staff and students in our Annual Earth Day activities. Currently we do not collect e-waste from students on a regular basis.
