Does the institution have an active student group focused on sustainability?:
Yes

A brief description of the student group, including its activities:

Pace supports four student environmental organizations:

1) N.A.T.U.R.E. (Pleasantville Campus): Natural Advocates Teaching an Understanding and Respect for the Environment. This student club focuses on local and global environmental issues. Events are aimed at bringing awareness of environmental issues to the Pace community. The mission of N.A.T.U.R.E. is to engage the Pace University campus and foster an understanding of environmental issues through education and action.

2) Student Sustainability Subcommittee (University-wide): their mission is to engage students from all campuses and disciplines who want to create a healthier and more ecologically friendly future for Pace. They serve as liaisons of the student body to the larger university sustainability committee (GreenPace). In Summer through September of 2010, this committee held a Trash to Treasure campaign to collect and sell (at bargain prices) items from students that would otherwise have been thrown out:. http://web.pace.edu/page.cfm?doc_id=34475. Additionally, this committee created and promotes the Adopt a Bin initiative which allows student groups the opportunity to promote their group while supporting recycling and decreasing littering. They also can sign a clean campus pledge. http://www.pace.edu/sustainability/student-sustainability-subcommittee

3) Pace's Environmental Law Society (ELS) ~ ELS exposes students to the environmental offerings of the Pace community, to create awareness of environmental issues, and to generate involvement in local environmental activities. They organize hikes and field trips, arrange for speakers and teleconferences, and look for ways to make our world greener. http://www.pace.edu/school-of-law/pace-environmental-law-society-els
