A brief description of how the institution ensures that its lowest-paid workers (including contractors, if applicable) receive sustainable compensation:

According to work done by Dr. Amy K Glasmeier and The Pennsylvania State University, the living wage for one adult in Pierce County is $8.21 per hour in 2012. All hourly positions at PLU pay at least WA State minimum wage of $9.04 per hour. (The living wage amount increases significantly when family members are added.) Research was done in order to find information about the living wage in Pierce County. This was done for the first time in August 2010. No attempt has been made to determine the family configurations of the lowest paid employees.

The most recent year total compensation for the institution’s lowest-paid workers (including contractors, if applicable) was evaluated to ensure that it was sustainable:
2,010
