DO IT IN THE DARK
What: Resident hall energy competition. Data for the electricity bills in residence halls were collected from the year before and measured in comparison to the current year after completion of the competition. The winning building was determined by the percent of reduction from the previous year.
Duration: one month (March)
Results showed a 17.9% overall decrease in utility costs.


A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign(s):

This awareness campaign provided students with information about sustainability and utility reduction. Overall, each residence hall saved a significant amount of money on their electricity bills, and students were more aware of their effects and/or contributions to the residence halls' electricity, gas, and water expenses.
